Meet Daan van Rossum, CEO of Dreamplex and an early adopter of Taskable.

Originally from Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Daan currently resides in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He took over the CEO role at the beginning of August after serving in the Chief Experience Officer role. While the promotion isn’t down solely to his use of Taskable, we certainly don’t think it hurts!

About Dreamplex

Dreamplex started as Vietnam’s first coworking space in 2015 and now supports over 150 companies of all sizes in their workplace experience. They combine well-being, engagement, and flexibility with hospitality-level care and employee experience programming, helping companies attract, engage and retain the best talent.

A day in the life

Because of the nature of Dreamplex’s operations, as well as their current hypergrowth phase, Daan’s day-to-day can be all over the place. His activities may include opening up new buildings, working on financial projections, making architectural and construction decisions, troubleshooting operations, marketing, and managing people.

In addition to his work responsibilities, Daan is also a new father to an 8-month old son - his first kid. Before parenthood, Daan didn’t have a set routine. Of course, with the birth of a child, a routine becomes much more critical. Now Daan wakes up around 5:30am to meditate, make coffee, and plan his day before showering and really getting a start. He also makes sure to take breaks throughout the day when possible to nap, play with his son, and recharge for the rest of the day’s meetings.

How the Taskable Method helps Daan be more productive

When Daan first came across Taskable, he wasn’t in the market for a new productivity tool. However, Taskable piqued his interest. He knew that managing his day-to-day in Google Docs probably wasn’t the best solution.

Daan quickly found that the value in Taskable isn’t just the software; it’s how the Taskable methodology helps you transform your habits and routines.

The biggest benefit was in onboarding, where I was taught that it’s not just about the tool, it’s about the routine. Now, spending time every morning to not be tempted and not dive into the work of whatever browser tab was open from the night before or email/Slack that is unanswered, but to really sit down and plan out the day, is incredibly helpful.

In fact, Daan’s top productivity tip is pretty simple:

Use Taskable. And tell your team to do it also. (I did!)
